Bennett could surprise all hockey fans and I hope Domi makes the Coyotes.

I'd imagine that most if not all hockey fans wouldn't be surprised at the success of a high pick such as Bennett

It sure sucks that the all sports radio stations, in Toronto, have had very little hockey talk, since the Blue Jays took flight. It's going to be a hard pill to swallow, when they end up losing the one game wildcard game, after hyping all of their star players. I don't think the Blue Jays pitching, is up to specs, outside of Price. They haven't shook the Yankees, as of yet, and they'll devastate the Toronto sports scene, like every other team that plays in that city. I'd just like to hear some hockey talk, since it is only a couple of weeks until training camps open.

Amazing how Burke could draft two good centres, in two years, in Calgary, but couldn't draft one in Toronto. We still wait for our next number one centre, going on 10 years! Marner will be a winger, just like pretty boy!

Virtanen in a top 6 role this year? unlikely.
He didn't really have a great year last year, and did nothing in the AHL playoffs (1A in 10gms). Nucks should let him dominate in Juniors and see what they have next year.

I think they have the pitching but won't use it.

Hockey talk is always more interesting. The theme will be can Kadri be a #1 centre? I just want to know Nylanders chances and see how Marner performs in preseason.

Moving guys to wing doesn't always work. Kadri is much better playing center and people thought he was too small.

You are right it has been Blue Jay talk on all the sports radio channels. Won't be too long until hockey is back.

If they send him back and he has a similar or even slightly better season then that pick will start to look horrible real quick.

Jays will win their division IMO. Sure is fun watching. They are united & supportive of each other, which is cool. That will assist greatly whenever they face some adversity.

What's there really to talk about the Leafs? The fact they're going to suck for a few years. Haven't we heard enough of how much theyve sucked over the past decade? Maybe your not a baseball but I love the fact the talk is all about the Jays. At least theyve managed to put a product on the field worth talking about....

Some of Burke's 1st round picks were rough, but in his defense he went off the board to get Rielly - who fell off the rankings to due a long-term injury in his draft year. He's gonna be a beauty.

I could be wrong but I think Connor Brown was also drafted by Burkie three seasons ago in like the 5th or 6th round and he's had mad success in all levels. I realize his OHL scoring champ and Most Outstanding Player was two years after his draft year, but leading all AHL rookies last year in his first AHL eligible year was pretty sweet.

I heard they want Nylander to play center, and I don't think he has any chance at making the Leafs - even if he has a great camp/pre-season. He's still very young and would be battling with Kadri and Bozak for quality ice.

I'm very much in favor of letting all our prospects gain experience and chemistry playing top line minutes together this season. We have a great bunch of forward prospects and depending on Harrington(acquired from PIT) and...whats his nuts we drafted early 2nd round we might actually come away with a few D prospects. All of Burkie's D picks like Finn seem to have faded but ya never know.

Final note: Too bad Marner can't play AHL. For the next two seasons(depending on his birth date) he has to play NHL or OHL. Luckily for Nylander and Vatanen they played pro in Europe so are allowed to play AHL before the age of 20.

Yeah you're right too bad we never drafted Kadri back in 2009 we'd be set right now. To be honest we should of moved up to grab Brayden Schenn he's a cant miss 1st line center... Drafting is so easy I don't understand why people have trouble with it.

well yeah, especially with guys like Nylander and Ehlers having huge years last year.
If the leafs are gonna be patient with a guy like Willie who had a greast season in the NHL, the nucks need to do the same with virtanen who didn't really break out like the other highly drafted guys from 2014

Burke was mocked pretty bad when he said Rielly was the guy he woulda took first.

1)Yakupov
2)Murray
3)Galchenyuk
4)Reinhart
5)Rielly

I'd say he was about dead on haha
